Five on Friday

Good Lawd I have let this blog go.  It was not my intentions but I just can't seem to get the time or energy to post.  I need to finish my posts about the cruise, a beach trip, first day of school, and general summer musings.   Eh, maybe one day...

But today, I am here for FIVE ON FRIDAY!!  Woop Woop!

If you don't not know my love for Luke Bryan, what rock have you been living under?  You KNOW I downloaded his new album before it was released!  It is SO GOOD.  Hearing his voice just makes me happy, happy, happy.  I have been looking forward to this day all summer!

My initial impression can be summed up into a text I sent Andrea early this morning.  I told her that this album has me emotionally unstable.  Two songs absolutely make me weak in the knees and blush like an innocent school girl (Strip It Down and Home Alone Tonight) {Luke sings about feeling his belt turn loose from blue jeans- HAVE MERCY!}, one about how fast time flies and how it makes me think of my kids growing up too fast (Fast), one booty shaking song like Country Girl (Move), and one sweet song about just loving life (Hunting, Fishing, and Loving Everyday).  I think I experienced a wide range of emotions all before 7AM this morning.  The album is AWESOME.  I didn't think he could top Crash My Party, but alas, he came through for me.  I am so stinking excited to see him at Farm Tour in October!

School started back this week.  I have a 5th grader and a 3rd grader.  Caylee didn't quite make it the entire first day.  I got a phone call from the nurse (is there a trophy for first parent called??) saying Caylee had a fever and headache.  Twenty four hours later, we had a strep diagnosis.  Yee-freakin'-haw.  I kept her home Tuesday and Wednesday.  She got in the car Thursday afternoon and said she felt really far behind.  I could understand that.  Her teachers have been super helpful in getting her acclimated.
Pre sickness

Last first day at an elementary school- this is probably what the sign should have said.  Oh well.  You get the point!

This was her first FULL day of third grade.- Thursday

I feel like I have discovered the secret to a happy marriage- text messaging....  I feel like I never get time with Chad anymore- it is a problem for us- well, me.  His schedule doesn't allow time for him to be an engineer, husband, and dad so the husband role usually gets pushed way back in the order of priorities.  We never go on "dates" anymore and rarely have time to have a conversation.  There have been a couple of things that I have wanted to talk to him about but haven't been able to so I have spent this entire morning texting him back and forth.  Part of the convo wasn't pleasant but since you can't tell a person's tone in a text message, maybe the best way to communicate is to text!!!  I am not joking about this at all.  It seems our only tool of communication is text.

There may be some major changes coming to our family (no, I am not pregnant and do not plan to become pregnant... see number 3).  I do not want to discuss it right now but I am praying that God points us in the right direction.

I am almost finished with Season 6 of Parenthood.  I love this show so much.  I have watched the ending (I DVR'd it) so I know how it ends.  I have been an emotional basket case the past couple of days watching this and listening to Luke.  I can't handle it!! ;)

That's if for now.  Maybe it will not be another month before I blog again!
